Object Description
Long vertical painting of a woman lounging on pillows at a low table with writing or drawing equipment on an open porch. Painting is a variation of the haboku (splashed-ink) technique. The technique, in which dark ink is applied rapidly over still‑wet, light washes, creates a soft, diffused effect, with neither well‑defined contour lines nor explicit details, and evokes an intuitive and contemplative mindset associated with Zen Buddhist spiritual practice.
