Object Description
Two fabric-bound volumes of The King Ranch by author, Tom Lea. Lea also did the maps and drawings. Research by Holland McCombs. Annotation by Francis L. Fugate. Printed for The King Ranch, Kingsville, Texas, MCMLVII in the USA. Book was designed by Carl Hertzog of El Paso, Texas. Three-thousand copies have been produced by the photo-offset process; plates and presswork by Guynes Printing Company. Color tones on maps and portraits are from separate drawings made by the illustrator, and printed with special inks. The all-rag paper was made especially for this book by the Curtis Paper Company and watermarked with the running "W" brand. The cover is a facsimile of the saddle blankets woven and used on the King Ranch. Fabric cover is called "Saddle Blanket Cover." Binding by the Universal of San Antonio. Volume I - pages 1 through 467 Volume II- pages 469 through 801.
