Object Description
Large statue representing Porpianong (hornbill bird), the mythological founder of the Senufo people, used in the Lo and Poro society as symbols of fertility. Bird has large head with long hooked beak touching its protruding stomach. Wings are rectangular in shape with two rectangular openings in each wing. Bird has short legs with feet that are on integral base.
