In this figurative work, four men and four women are seen square dancing. Forming a circle, they stand with their backs facing inward, alternating male and female. Each person's arms are outstretched, reaching beyond the person standing next to them, so that the females are all joining hands and the males are all joining hands, their arms then being 'interwoven.' The women wear colorful period prairie costumes of long dresses with tight bodices and long sleeves. The men wear colorful pants and shirts, the central male figure also wearin and open green vest. The circle of dancers is placed within a golden toned background that appears to also encircle the dancers.
