Object Description
Egyptian necklace of turquoise colored ceramic beads and center amulet. Amulet bears the Eye of Ra, a symbol of the sun god Ra. The Eye of Ra is a right eye with a prominent eyebrow above it and is often accompanied by a teardrop or cobra.
The amulet dates to the Egyptian Late Period (ca.500 BCE) The long narrow beads are also most likely old, although they may range in date from 500 BCE to 200 CE. The two metal beads on each side of the amulet are most probably modern, as is the clasp and string.
