Object Description
Effigy incense burner, double faced Tlaloc male with faces back to back on four legs. Large masks with prominent nose and protruding eyes cover face. At top of one mask are two snakes entwined. Large loop over whole piece is attached to top of head, which is hollow. Fanciful with many eyes. Gross No. 17 MCOL Quote from catalogue regarding similar work in the Los Angeles Museum: "Such pieces, frequest in collections, appear to date to the postclassic period and are stylistically distinct from the rest of the Colima tradition."
