Object Description
"Day at the Beach I & II" consists of four separate pieces. Two of the pieces are framed watercolors on paper (there are also two pieces of paper in each frame) and two pieces are painted shutters with a mixed media drawing on plaster. 2004.009.01 is a watercolor on two pieces of watercolor paper consisting of four figures (l to r): a woman lying on her stomach on a pink towel, a man in swin trunks jogging to the right in the foreground, a man lying face up with his knees bent and his arms folded above his head, and a woman in a yellow bikini walking to the right.
2004.009.02 is a watercolor on paper consisting of four figures on the beach as follows (l tor): A woman stands with her back towards the viewer wearing a yellow bikini and holds a fan in her hand. A standing man with dark hair and sunglasses faces to the left, he wears a red, white and blue bathing suit; two women lie on the beach wearing pink and white bikinis.
2004.009.03 is Red Shutters with attached plaster; plaster has a pencil drawing of a palm tree drawn directly on it.
2004.009.04 is Yellow Shutters with attached plaster; plaster has a pencil drawing of a palm tree drawn directly on it.
