Jade pendant, face with bird on head; two holes through top of head, as for hanging around neck. On loan to OJAC as LX.020 from 7/7/88 to 7/7/91. 6/21/96, description from William O. Gross, Jr.: Pendant - Maya, dark green serpentine (?) pierced at top for suspension. Appears to be a shaman in a trance-like state induced by halucinagenic snuff suggested by mucus exuding from nostrils, heavy-lidded eyes closed, and a bird form (his spirit companion into the otherworld) resting on his head. Typical Maya profile, uncarved on back.
