This silkscreen consists of four separate images within the picture plane. The larger image depicts boys pretending to fly by holding their arms out and moving their hands against the air just as kids do when they are playing "airplane." Two of the boys in the lower left foreground seem to be involved in conversation and gesturing. One boy faces the viewer while the other has his back to the viewer. To the right side, there are two boys just beyon the foreground and one begins the lift off of the ground with his arms stretched out to his sides and the other boy seemingly attempts to copy him. In the background , set against the partially clouded blue sky and the setting/rising sun are two boys in full flight. In the distance are leafless trees blowing to the left and low mountains. This central image is very colorful. All of the boys are yellow-green and wear red shirts. The sky is dark blue towards the top and bright blue as it approaches the blazing sunrise/sunset of dep orange, gold, and yellow. The mountains in the distance are dark bworn and the trees and the ground are lighter shades of brown. Beneath the central image are three images contained within three small squares. The images are labeled above as "TOTAL LIFT," "STALL," and "ANGLE OF INCIDENCE." Each smaller image consists of hands and wrists at an angle against arrows indicating the direction of the wind. The smaller images are printed in a blue gray color against the beige background of the print. A beige "border" surrounds and separates all four images.
