Terri Thornton

American, b. 1958
Terri Thornton was born in 1958 and grew up in Nacogdoches, Texas. She received a BFA from the University of North Texas in 1980, and a MFA in 1992 from the University of Dallas. Thornton lives and works in Fort Worth, Texas where she divides her time between making art, family, and her day-job as Curator of Education at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Thornton’s art is conceptually based with concern for visual and often spatial effect. For consistency and clarity, she identifies all her work as drawing, no matter the form it takes. In April 2020, Thornton and her husband, the artist Cameron Schoepp, launched the alternative gallery, Blind Alley Projects
