20th century artist. who creates abstract oil paintings portrayed with extremely thick three-dimensional impasto, colors troweled and plastered across the surface exhibiting various smooth and rough textures. Parts of the pigment are incised or carved away, and parts are applied in globs, revealing both three-dimensional recesses and protrusions throughout the surface.
