Peter Blanc was a sculptor / painter in New York. He was the brother of Ft. Worth, Texas artist, Flora Blanc Reeder (wife of Dickson Reeder). Blanc was born in New York City and spent most of his youth there before attending American University in Washington, D.C. to study art. Peter Blanc was president of the Washington Artists Guild ca. 1951. There are several interesting articles available online with Washington Post reviews of the Artists Guilds exhibitions during this period. Recipient awards Corcoran Gallery Art, 1949, awards Society Washington Artists, 1951, 53, awards Washington Water Color Club, 1949, 52. Lieutenant United States Army, 1944-1946. Blanc authored, "The Artist and the Atom", published by the Smithsonian in 1951. His papers and some works are held by the Smithsonian in their Archives of American Art. Peter Blanc spent the majority of his professional career as a painter and sculptor in New York City.
